The Internal Examination and Timetable Fixation Committee plays a vital role in academic planning and assessment. It ensures that internal assessments (like unit tests, practicals, and assignments) are conducted efficiently and that class and exam timetables are properly scheduled without conflicts.
Roles and Responsibilities
A. Internal Examination Responsibilities
· Prepare the schedule for internal assessments (Mid-Sem, Unit Tests, Model Exams).
· Coordinate with departments to ensure uniformity in exam dates and formats.
· Ensure availability of question papers and invigilators.
· Monitor the fair and smooth conduct of exams.
· Maintain records of internal marks and communicate them to stakeholders (students, parents, university, etc.).
· Resolve student grievances related to internal assessment.
B. Time Table Fixation Responsibilities
· Prepare the master academic timetable at the beginning of each semester.
· Coordinate with departments to allocate classrooms, labs, and faculty schedules.
· Avoid timetable clashes and ensure proper workload distribution.
· Update the timetable as needed due to changes in faculty or course offerings.
· Display and communicate finalized timetables to all departments.
Meeting Frequency
· Pre-semester: Planning academic and exam calendar.
· Mid-semester: Monitoring internal exams and making necessary adjustments.
· End-of-semester: Review performance, collect feedback, and plan improvements.
